Name: Dendrobium limpidum

Etymology: The genus name Dendrobium is derived from Greek components meaning "tree" and "life," referring to the predominantly epiphytic nature of the genus. The Latin specific epithet limpidum means "clear," "pure," or "translucent" and refers to the appearance of the flowers.

Origin/Distribution: Southeast Asia.

Location/Habitat: The species grows epiphytically in warm, humid forests. We recommend bright, filtered light, high humidity, and very good air circulation. Warm conditions of approximately 20–30 °C during the day and 16–22 °C at night are favorable. Since the plants offered are cultivated mounted, the roots require regular moisture but must be able to dry out well after watering.

Description and Notes: Dendrobium limpidum is a botanical orchid with slender stems and attractive flowers. Cultivation in a mounted state corresponds to its epiphytic habit and allows for excellent ventilation of the root system. We water regularly during active growth with soft water if possible and fertilize lightly. With mounted plants, more frequent watering is required depending on temperature and humidity compared to pot culture. We avoid permanent wetness and standing water at the roots.
