Description

Dendrobium Misty Magic f. orange

Name: Dendrobium Misty Magic 'Orange'

Etymology: The genus name Dendrobium is derived from the Greek dendron ("tree") and bios ("life"). "Misty Magic" is the registered grex name; "Orange" denotes the selected flower color.

First description: The grex was registered with the RHS in 2005 by D. & M. Crawford.

Origin / Breeding: Dendrobium Misty Magic is a hybrid of D. gonzalesii (synonym D. ceraula) × D. cuthbertsonii.

Description & Notes: Compact Dendrobium hybrid with significant influence from the small-growing D. cuthbertsonii and intensely colored flowers. We cultivate it in bright to lightly shaded conditions, with high humidity, good air circulation, and consistent moisture. We keep it cool to intermediate, at approximately 12–22 °C.
