Name: Cyrtonia Jamier
Description & Notes: A multi-genus hybrid from the Oncidium alliance with sympodial growth and pseudobulbs. It is suitable for temperate orchid cultivation and prefers a consistent supply of water and nutrients during the formation of new shoots. Once the pseudobulbs have matured, watering can be slightly reduced.
Light: Bright to partial shade with plenty of filtered, indirect light. Mild morning or evening sun is beneficial; avoid intense midday sun.
Temperature: Temperate, ideally around 17–25 °C during the day and 12–18 °C at night. A slight drop in temperature at night is beneficial.
Water & Humidity: Water regularly during active growth and allow the substrate to dry out only slightly between waterings. After the pseudobulbs have matured, reduce the amount of water slightly, but do not allow it to become severely dry. Humidity of around 55–75% with good air circulation is beneficial.
Substrate: Fine to medium-grade, airy orchid substrate on a bark base with good drainage. Some sphagnum moss can be added for more even moisture retention.
