Name: Coelogyne flaccida Lindl.
Origin/Distribution: Himalayan region from Nepal and northern India to Bhutan, as well as adjacent regions of Southeast Asia.
Location/Habitat: Epiphytic or lithophytic in moist mountain forests. The species prefers bright, filtered light, good air circulation, and cool to intermediate temperatures of approximately 10–24 °C.
Description and Notes: Coelogyne flaccida forms elongated pseudobulbs, usually with two leaves. The pendulous inflorescences bear several cream-white to pale yellow, pleasantly scented flowers; the lip is yellow with brown markings. During the growing season, we keep an airy bark-based potting mix evenly moist and fertilize lightly. Once the pseudobulbs have matured, watering is reduced without allowing the plant to dry out completely. Cooler, brighter winter conditions promote flower bud formation.
