Description

Cattleya trianae f. coerulea 'Marina x Cielo Azul'

Name: Cattleya trianae f. coerulea ‘Marina’ × ‘Cielo Azul’

Parents: Two coerulea selections of Cattleya trianae; it is an interspecific hybrid.

Origin/Distribution: The species is native to Colombia.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow the seedlings in intermediate to warm conditions at around 17–27 °C, in very bright light and with good air circulation. During growth, we water regularly; the coarse substrate may then dry out well.

Description and Notes: The hybrid combines the coerulea clones ‘Marina’ and ‘Cielo Azul’. Cool lavender to bluish-purple shades are expected, although intensity, lip markings, and flower shape may vary among seedlings.
