Description

Cattleya trianae splash 'Bonachona'

Name: Cattleya trianae splash ‘Bonachona’

Origin/Distribution: Cultivated color form of the Colombian species Cattleya trianae.

Location/Habitat: Grow in bright to very bright, airy conditions in coarse, rapidly draining bark. Water regularly during growth; keep slightly drier after the pseudobulbs have matured. Temperatures around 16–27 °C with cooler nights are favorable.

Description and Notes: ‘Bonachona’ is a splash form with colored areas or stripes on the petals and a boldly marked lip. The large winter blooms may be fragrant and display the elegant form of Cattleya trianae. Plenty of light without overheating helps produce distinct markings.
