Cattleya trianae 'Michael 7A x Sangre De Toro Dark Lip'

Name: Cattleya trianae ‘Michael 7A’ × ‘Sangre de Toro Dark Lip’

Parents: Two selected clones of Cattleya trianae; this is an interspecific hybrid.

Origin/Distribution: The species is native to Colombia.

Location/Growing conditions: We grow the seedlings in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 17–27 °C, in very bright conditions and with good air circulation. The coarse orchid potting medium is watered regularly during growth and allowed to dry out well afterwards.

Description and notes: The ‘Sangre de Toro Dark Lip’ clone was selected for its intense lip coloration. In combination with ‘Michael 7A’, we expect variable pink to purple flowers with a particularly striking lip.
