Description

Cattleya trianae Cuencanita x Morlaquita Splash

Name: Cattleya trianae ‘Cuencanita’ × ‘Morlaquita Splash’

Parents: Two selected lines of Cattleya trianae; this is an interspecific hybrid.

Location/growing conditions: We grow the seedlings in intermediate to warm conditions at around 17–27 °C, in very bright conditions and with good air circulation. During growth, we water regularly and then allow the coarse orchid potting medium to dry out well.

Description and notes: This hybrid combines a selected Cattleya trianae line with a Splash selection. The seedlings may vary considerably in base color, lip markings, and splash pattern. Cooler nights during bud development are beneficial.
