Description

Cattleya Thayeriana

Name: Cattleya Thayeriana

Parents: Cattleya intermedia × Cattleya schroederae

Location/Cultural conditions: Grow in bright to very bright and airy conditions. A coarse bark substrate, thorough watering during growth followed by drying out promote healthy roots. Approximately 17–28 °C with cooler nights is recommended; keep somewhat drier after the shoots have matured, but do not let them dry out completely for long periods.

Description and notes: This historical grex combines the slender, often floriferous influence of Cattleya intermedia with the large, fragrant flowers of Cattleya schroederae. The plants form sympodial shoots and striking flowers with a prominent lip. Color shade and shape may vary in seedlings.
