Description

Cattleya Orange Delight

Name: Cattleya Orange Delight

Parents: Cattleya harpophylla × Cattleya luteola

Registration: RHS registered grex; registered in 1964 by Rod McLellan Co.

Location/growing conditions: We grow this primary hybrid in warm to intermediate conditions at around 18–28 °C, in very bright conditions with good air circulation. The coarse orchid potting medium is watered regularly and allowed to dry out well in between.

Description and notes: Both parents contribute warm yellow to orange tones. The hybrid can produce bright, star-shaped flowers with a contrasting lip and is generally more manageable than many large-flowered Cattleya hybrids.
