Cattleya maxima 'yellow lip' ('Ingrid x cod 8052 4N')

Name: Cattleya maxima ‘Yellow Lip’ (‘Ingrid’ × ‘8052 4N’)

Parents: Two selected clones of Cattleya maxima; it is an interspecific hybrid. The parent clone ‘8052 4N’ is listed as a tetraploid line.

Origin/Distribution: Cattleya maxima is widespread in western South America, including Ecuador and Peru.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow the seedlings in intermediate to warm conditions at around 18–28 °C, in very bright conditions and with good air circulation. The coarse orchid potting medium is watered regularly and allowed to dry out well afterwards.

Description and Remarks: For this hybrid, lines with particularly yellow lips were combined. In the seedlings, the intensity of the yellow color, flower shape, and other color markings may vary.
