Cattleya maxima f. coerulea 'Gigi x Angelo'

Name: Cattleya maxima f. coerulea ‘Gigi’ × ‘Angelo’

Parents: Two selected coerulea clones of Cattleya maxima; this is an intraspecific cross.

Origin/Distribution: The species is native to western South America, particularly Ecuador and Peru.

Location/Cultivation requirements: We grow the seedlings in intermediate to warm conditions at about 18–28 °C, in very bright light and with good air movement. The coarse substrate should be watered regularly and allowed to dry out well afterwards.

Description and notes: This cross combines the coerulea selections ‘Gigi’ and ‘Angelo’. We expect cooler lavender to violet-blue shades; intensity, lip markings, and flower shape can vary significantly among seedlings.
