Description

Cattleya maxima f. semialba (5 cm pot)

Name: Cattleya maxima f. semialba

Origin/Distribution: A horticulturally selected color form of the western South American species Cattleya maxima.

Location/Habitat: Cultivate in a very bright and airy environment. A coarse bark substrate and a pot with rapid drainage are ideal. Approximately 18–29 °C with slightly cooler nights is suitable.

Description and Notes: The semialba form possesses predominantly light to white sepals and petals, while the lip remains distinctly colored with high-contrast markings. The plant forms elongated pseudobulbs and can bear several large flowers on mature shoots. Water regularly and fertilize weakly during new growth; subsequently, allow to dry out more thoroughly between waterings.
