Description

Cattleya maxima coerulea 'Hector' x 'Gigi'

Name: Cattleya maxima coerulea ‘Hector’ × ‘Gigi’

Parents: Cattleya maxima coerulea ‘Hector’ × Cattleya maxima coerulea ‘Gigi’

Growing conditions: Grow in a very bright, warm to intermediate, well-ventilated spot in coarse bark. Water regularly and feed lightly while new growth is developing; keep somewhat drier once it has matured. Temperatures of around 18–29 °C are suitable.

Description and notes: This is an intraspecific cross between two coerulea selections of Cattleya maxima, not a grex of its own. Seedlings may produce silvery-lavender to bluish-purple flowers with a more strongly marked lip. Flower shape, color intensity, and flower count vary genetically.
