Cattleya maxima 'Churonita' x 'La Esperada'

Name: Cattleya maxima ‘Churonita’ × ‘La Esperada’

Parents: Two selected clones of Cattleya maxima; this is an interspecific hybrid.

Origin/Distribution: Cattleya maxima is found in western South America, particularly in Ecuador and Peru.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow the seedlings in intermediate to warm conditions at around 18–28 °C, in very bright conditions with good air circulation. We water regularly during growth; the coarse potting medium should then be allowed to dry out well.

Description and Notes: This hybrid combines the selected clones ‘Churonita’ and ‘La Esperada’. The aim is to produce elegant Cattleya maxima with a harmonious, rather pastel-colored floral display. As seedlings, color and form may vary.
