Description

Cattleya Eximia

Name: Cattleya Eximia

Parents: Cattleya warneri × Cattleya purpurata

Registration: Historical RHS grex; registered in 1890 by Veitch.

Location/Cultural conditions: We grow Cattleya Eximia in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 17–28 °C, very bright and with good air movement. We water and fertilize regularly during the growth phase; the coarse orchid substrate should be allowed to dry out well afterwards.

Description and notes: This historical primary hybrid combines the large, substantial flowers of Cattleya warneri with the elegant influence of Cattleya purpurata. The flowers can be large, intensely colored, and pleasantly fragrant. After the shoots have matured, we reduce water and fertilizer slightly.
