Description

Cattleya Elegans (1898)

Name: Cattleya Elegans (1898)

Parents: Cattleya intermedia × Cattleya purpurata

Location/Cultivation Conditions: Grow in bright to very bright, airy conditions. A coarse, well-draining bark medium is particularly suitable. Water regularly and fertilize lightly during growth; allow to dry out well between waterings after the bulbs have matured. Approximately 16–27 °C and cooler nights are suitable.

Description and Notes: This historic grex combines two Brazilian Cattleya species. Typical features are vigorous, sympodial shoots and elegant flowers, whose shape, ground colour and lip markings may vary among seedlings. The year in the product name serves to distinguish it from other historic registrations with the same name.
