Name: Cattleya Chamberlainiana (1881)

Parents: Cattleya dowiana × Cattleya tigrina

Location/Cultural conditions: Cultivate in a very bright area, warm to intermediate, with good air circulation. Coarse orchid bark and rapid drainage are important. Water regularly and fertilize lightly during new growth; allow to dry out well between waterings after the pseudobulbs have matured. Approximately 18–29 °C is suitable.

Description and notes: This historical grex combines the intense lip color of Cattleya dowiana with the floriferous, firm-textured influence of Cattleya tigrina. The waxy-looking flowers can display dark red to purple hues and are long-lasting. Plenty of light and a fast-drying root zone promote reliable blooming.
