Name: Bulbophyllum mastersianum
Synonym: Cirrhopetalum mastersianum Rolfe
Origin: Indonesia (Moluccas), Borneo

Description:
Bulbophyllum mastersianum is a charming miniature orchid with compact growth and elegant, delicately colored flowers. The plant forms small, rounded pseudobulbs, each producing a single leathery leaf. Particularly striking are the finely structured inflorescences, which bear several star-shaped flowers in warm shades of yellow to orange. The delicate lip is often mobile and contrasts with the rest of the flower—a hallmark of many Bulbophyllum species.

The flowering period lasts several weeks, with the flowers opening one after another. Thanks to its compact size, this species is ideal for growing in a terrarium, mounted on cork, or in a well-draining medium.

Growing tips:

This species prefers warm temperatures and high humidity. A bright location without direct sunlight and good air circulation are essential for healthy growth. The medium should remain slightly moist at all times, but waterlogging must be avoided. Regular fertilization during the growing season promotes vigor and flowering.

Special feature:

Bulbophyllum mastersianum delights with its delicate appearance and continuous flowering. Its unusual flower structure makes it a fascinating specimen for collectors of tropical orchids and lovers of botanical rarities.
