Name: Catyclia Maureen Shank

Parents: Encyclia adenocaula × Cattleya maxima

Location/Growing Conditions: Grow in bright to very bright conditions and airy conditions in coarse, fast-draining bark. Water regularly and fertilize lightly during active growth. Once the pseudobulbs are mature, reduce watering and allow the medium to dry out well between waterings. Temperatures around 17–28 °C are suitable.

Description and Notes: The hybrid combines the branched, profuse-flowering influence of Encyclia adenocaula with the larger flowers and distinctive lip of Cattleya maxima. The plants can bear numerous star-shaped to open flowers. Good air circulation and a dry-managed rest period after growth is complete promote healthy roots and flower bud formation.
