Name: Cattleya Andean Colors
Parents: Cattleya Pornthip × Cattleya Adrienne de Wavrin
Registration: Registered on August 21, 2024, by Ecuagenera in the International Orchid Register of the Royal Horticultural Society.
Location/Culture Conditions: We grow this Cattleya hybrid in intermediate to warm conditions at about 18–28 °C, in very bright light protected from intense midday sun, and with good air movement. A coarse, fast-draining orchid substrate is ideal. Water regularly during active growth and fertilize moderately; the substrate should dry out significantly between waterings without the plant remaining dry for an extended period.
Description and Notes: Cattleya Andean Colors combines the large-flowered lines of both its parents. Expect strong, upright inflorescences with large, rounded flowers and a contrastingly colored lip. White to pinkish base tones with bold pink to purple lip markings are typical for this cross. Color, markings, and flower shape may vary in seedlings. Mature pseudobulbs, plenty of light, and a slight nighttime temperature drop promote blooming.
