Description

Brassocattleya Morning Glory Rubra #14

Name: Brassocattleya Morning Glory ‘Rubra #14’

Parents: Brassavola nodosa × Cattleya purpurata

Growing conditions: We grow ‘Rubra #14’ in intermediate to warm conditions at about 18–28 °C, with very bright light and good air movement. During active growth, we water regularly; the coarse orchid mix should then be allowed to dry out thoroughly.

Description and notes: This richly colored selection combines the star-shaped flower form and fragrance of Brassavola nodosa with the larger, more vividly colored blooms of Cattleya purpurata. ‘Rubra #14’ was selected for its striking reddish-purple blooms.
