Name: Brassia Senne Feast
Parents: Brassia verrucosa × Brassia Spider’s Feast
Registration: Registered in 2020 by Röllke Orchideen with the Royal Horticultural Society.
Etymology: The genus Brassia honors the English botanical illustrator William Brass. The grex name “Senne Feast” is a breeder's name.
Location/Cultural Conditions: We recommend temperate to warm conditions of about 16–27 °C, bright filtered light, medium to high humidity, and good air circulation. Water regularly and fertilize weakly during the growing season; an airy bark substrate should be allowed to dry out slightly between waterings. After the pseudobulbs have matured, watering can be reduced somewhat without letting the plant dry out completely for long periods.
Description and Notes: Brassia Senne Feast combines the long, narrow sepals and high-contrast markings of B. verrucosa with the floriferous character of Brassia Spider’s Feast. One can expect elegant, spider-like flowers in yellow-green to warm yellow tones with brown markings. Flower size, color, and markings may vary between individual seedlings.
