Description

Anathallis rabei

Name: Anathallis rabei

Etymology: The genus name Anathallis refers to floral characteristics; rabei is a patronymic.

Origin/Distribution: Tropical South America.

Location/Habitat: We cultivate the species intermediately at around 12–24 °C, with high humidity, diffuse light, and continuous air movement. The fine roots remain evenly slightly moist and well-aerated.

Description and Notes: This compact, pseudobulbless orchid produces leathery leaves and small, detailed flowers. A fine, airy, and slightly moisture-retaining substrate or a mounted culture in high humidity is well suited.
