Name: Phragmipedium Professor Braem × Phragmipedium besseae
Parents: Phragmipedium Professor Braem × Phragmipedium besseae
Notes: An impressive hybrid within the Phragmipedium genus, distinguished by its intensely vibrant flower color and elegant floral form.
Description: This hybrid combines the outstanding characteristics of its parent species. Due to the influence of Phragmipedium besseae, the flower displays a bold, usually intensely red to orange-red color, as well as rounded, well-proportioned petals. Phragmipedium Professor Braem contributes impressive flower size, vigorous growth, and stability. The sword-shaped, deep green leaves grow in a fan-like manner, and the elegant inflorescences produce several spectacular flowers one after another. The plant prefers a bright location without direct, intense midday sun, consistently moist, slightly calcareous substrate without waterlogging, and high humidity at temperate to warm temperatures.
Location/Cultivation conditions: Intermediate at around 15–26 °C, partial shade to moderately bright. Keep the airy, moisture-retaining substrate consistently moist and use soft, low-salt water.
