Description

Phragmipedium Professor Braem x Phrag. Acker's Beauty

Name: Phragmipedium Professor Braem × Phragmipedium Acker's Beauty

Etymology: The genus name Phragmipedium is derived from the Greek phragma ("partition") and pedilon ("shoe") and refers to the shoe-shaped lip and the partitions of the ovary. "Professor Braem" and "Acker's Beauty" are the names of the two parent hybrids.

Origin / Breeding: Hybrid of Phragmipedium Professor Braem × Phragmipedium Acker's Beauty. The cross combines the characteristics of both Phragmipedium parent lines.

Description & Notes: Medium-sized Phragmipedium hybrid with long, narrow leaves and upright to arching inflorescences, on which the flowers appear successively. We cultivate it in bright to slightly shaded conditions, with high humidity, good air circulation, and consistently even moisture. We keep it at a temperate to warm temperature, around 18–26 °C.
