Location/Growing conditions: We grow Phragmipedium Janela Portilla under intermediate conditions at around 16–24 °C, with bright, filtered light, high humidity, and good air circulation. We keep the airy, moisture-retentive medium evenly moist.

Description and notes: This cross concentrates the influence of richly colored Phragmipedium besseae lines and can produce especially vivid red to orange-red flowers. Compared with many long-petaled Phragmipedium hybrids, the plants remain relatively compact. Seedlings vary in color and form.
