Name: Phragmipedium Easy Men
Parents: Phragmipedium pearcei × Phragmipedium manzurii
Registration: Registered by Ecuagenera in the RHS International Orchid Register on October 30, 2023.
Etymology: The genus name Phragmipedium is derived from Greek: “phragma” means partition and “pedilon” means slipper, referring to the slipper-shaped lip.
Location/Growing conditions: This compact hybrid prefers bright, filtered light, high humidity, and gentle, steady air movement. Keep the fine to medium, airy potting mix evenly moist and never allow it to dry out completely. Intermediate temperatures of around 15–25 °C, with cooler nights, are well suited.
Description and notes: Phragmipedium Easy Men combines the slender, compact growth of Phragmipedium pearcei with the delicate pink-and-white floral appearance of Phragmipedium manzurii. The flowers are borne on upright stems and may open sequentially. Seedlings naturally vary in color, markings, and proportions.
