Name: Philodendron spiritus-sancti G.S.Bunting
Etymology: The specific epithet spiritus-sancti means "Holy Spirit" and refers to the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo.
First description: In 1978 by George S. Bunting.
Origin/Distribution: Espírito Santo, Brazil.
Location/Habitat: Epiphytic to hemiepiphytic in warm, humid forests at low altitudes. We recommend approximately 20–29 °C, high humidity, very good air circulation, and bright, filtered light.
Description and notes: This rare species develops a short climbing stem and very long, narrow, pendulous leaves with a deeply sunken midrib. The XS plant offered still has simpler juvenile leaves and will only develop its characteristic appearance with increasing maturity. A tall, stable moss pole and a coarse, airy aroid substrate support root development. Keep evenly slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging and cold drafts.
