Name: Philodendron species ‘Red Petiole’
Designation: A not yet definitively identified Philodendron from Ecuador cultivated under this trade name. “Red Petiole” refers to the conspicuously reddish-colored leaf stalks.
Location/Cultivation conditions: We recommend a warm location at about 20–28 °C, high humidity, and bright, indirect light. A loose aroid substrate with coarse, structurally stable components keeps the roots well-aerated.
Description and notes: The special appeal of this collector's plant lies in the contrast between the green foliage and the reddish leaf stalks. Keep evenly slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging. A climbing aid promotes orderly growth and can support the development of larger leaves. The trade name is not to be understood as a botanically described species name.
