Description

Philodendron sharoniae slim

Name: Philodendron sharoniae Croat ‘Slim’

Etymology: sharoniae honors Sharon Christoph Davidson; ‘Slim’ refers to this particularly narrow-leaved selection.

First description: The species was described by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin/Distribution: Philodendron sharoniae is native to northwestern South America.

Location/Habitat: We cultivate ‘Slim’ in intermediate to warm conditions at around 18–27 °C, with high humidity and bright, indirect light. We keep the coarse, airy aroid substrate evenly lightly moist.

Description and notes: This climbing plant develops exceptionally long, narrow, and elegantly pendulous leaves. In ‘Slim’, this narrow leaf character is particularly pronounced. A tall climbing support allows the plant to grow naturally and develop larger leaves.
