Description

Philodendron parvidactylum

Name: Philodendron parvidactylum

Etymology: The epithet parvidactylum can be understood figuratively as "small-fingered" and refers to the pinnatifid leaf shape.

Location/Cultivation Conditions: We cultivate the species in warm to intermediate conditions at approximately 18–27 °C, with high humidity, good air circulation, and bright, indirect light. A climbing support and a coarse, airy aroid substrate promote vigorous growth.

Description and Notes: Philodendron parvidactylum develops characteristically pinnatifid leaves and a climbing growth habit as it matures. Young plants may initially have much more simply shaped leaves. We keep the substrate consistently lightly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
