Name: Philodendron gloriosum ‘Camuflaje’ Variegata
Etymology: gloriosum means “glorious” or “magnificent.” ‘Camuflaje’ is the cultivar name of this variegated selection and refers to the irregular, camouflage-like leaf patterning.
Origin/Distribution: The species Philodendron gloriosum is native to tropical America.
Location/Habitat: We cultivate this selection in warm to intermediate conditions at approximately 19–28°C, with high humidity and bright, indirect light. We keep the coarse, airy aroid substrate evenly moist and avoid waterlogging.
Description and Notes: ‘Camuflaje’ combines the trailing growth and velvety, heart-shaped leaves of Philodendron gloriosum with striking variegation. Since the vine grows horizontally, we prefer wide, elongated containers. Bright indirect light supports attractive patterning, while strong direct sunlight can damage the light areas of the leaves.
