Description

Philodendron bannoniae

Name: Philodendron bannoniae Croat

Etymology: The genus name Philodendron comes from Greek and means "tree-loving". The epithet bannoniae is a personal name and honors the person to whom the species was dedicated.

First description: The species was described by Thomas B. Croat.

Origin / Habitat: Tropical South America, in moist tropical forests. It grows as a climber and hemiepiphytically.

Description & Care: Climbing Philodendron with decoratively shaped foliage and vigorous growth. We cultivate it in bright to partial shade, warm conditions, with high humidity and good air circulation. We keep the substrate evenly lightly moist and avoid waterlogging. We keep it at around 18–28 °C.
