Name: Paphinopea Charles Mans
Parents: Stanhopea Shinjik × Paphinia cristata
Registration: RHS-registered intergeneric hybrid; registered on May 7, 2025, by Ecuagenera.
Location/Growing Conditions: We grow Paphinopea Charles Mans in intermediate to warm conditions at approximately 18–26°C, with high humidity, bright filtered light, and continuous gentle air movement. We keep the airy, slightly moisture-retaining potting medium evenly moist during growth.
Description and Notes: This unusual Stanhopeinae hybrid combines the vigorous growth of Stanhopea Shinjik with the elegant floral character of Paphinia cristata. The inflorescences can grow laterally or even pendulously, which is why we recommend growing it in an open basket or hanging pot. The waxy flowers can develop intricate markings and intense colors.
