Name: Palicourea paulina
Etymology: The genus name Palicourea derives from a historical name for members of this neotropical plant group.
Origin/Distribution: Tropical South America.
Location/Habitat: A tropical forest plant for moist, sheltered locations. We recommend bright, filtered light to partial shade, high humidity, and intermediate temperatures.
Description and Notes: Palicourea paulina is a rarely cultivated Rubiaceae with attractive tropical foliage. We grow it in a loose, humus-rich, well-draining substrate that is kept evenly and slightly moist. High humidity and good air circulation support healthy growth. Avoid intense direct midday sun, waterlogging, and allowing the substrate to dry out completely for extended periods. Temperatures of about 18–26 °C are suitable.
