Description

Oncidopsis Enzan Fantasy

Name: Oncidopsis Enzan Fantasy

Etymology: The hybrid genus name Oncidopsis combines Oncidium and Miltoniopsis. “Enzan Fantasy” is the registered grex name; “Enzan” refers to the breeder or breeding line, while “Fantasy” reflects the hybrid’s naming.

Registration: Mukoyama registered the cultivated hybrid in 2005 from Oncidopsis Cambria × Oncidium Florence Love.

Origin / Breeding: Cultivated hybrid of Oncidopsis and Oncidium. Its ancestry includes, among others, Oncidium alexandrae, O. harryanum and Miltoniopsis vexillaria.

Description & Notes: Compact hybrid with narrow leaves and branched inflorescences. We grow it in bright to partially shaded conditions, with high humidity and good air circulation. We cultivate it in cool to intermediate conditions, at around 14–24 °C, and keep the potting mix slightly moist between waterings.
