Name: Oncidium Mi Morena
Etymology: The genus name Oncidium derives from the Greek word for “swelling” or “knob” and refers to the callus on the lip. The Spanish grex name “Mi Morena” roughly means “my dark-haired one” or “my dark one.”
Location/Growing Conditions: We recommend bright, filtered light, high humidity, and good air movement. The medium should be fine to medium-grade, airy, and slightly moisture-retentive. Keep it evenly moist during active growth without allowing waterlogging. Cool-intermediate to intermediate temperatures of about 14–24 °C are well suited.
Description and Notes: Oncidium Mi Morena produces pseudobulbs, elongated leaves, and upright to arching inflorescences bearing striking, boldly marked flowers. We keep the plant regularly moist while new growths are developing. After the pseudobulbs have matured, watering can be reduced slightly; we avoid letting the plant dry out completely for extended periods.
