Description

Lepanthes Barad-dur

Name: Lepanthes Barad-dur

Parents: Lepanthes ionoptera × Lepanthes escobariana

Etymology: The grex name Barad-dur refers to the Dark Tower from J. R. R. Tolkien's work.

Location/Growing Conditions: We grow Lepanthes Barad-dur in cool to intermediate conditions at approximately 13–22°C, with very high humidity, bright filtered light, and gentle, continuous air movement. We keep the fine roots constantly slightly moist.

Description and Notes: This compact Lepanthes hybrid combines two Andean species and produces small, finely textured flowers. Seedlings may vary in flower color and patterning. Growing in a humid display case or a temperate greenhouse is ideal.
