Name: Leptotes pohlitinocoi V.P.Castro & Chiron

Etymology: The specific epithet pohlitinocoi honors Brazilian orchid enthusiasts.

First described: In 2004 by Vitor P. Castro and Philippe Chiron.

Origin/Distribution: The species is native to Brazil.

Location/Habitat: We grow Leptotes pohlitinocoi under intermediate to warm conditions at about 18–27 °C, with high humidity, bright filtered light, and very good air movement. When mounted or grown in a very airy substrate, we allow the roots to dry slightly after watering.

Description and notes: This compact epiphytic orchid has narrow, succulent-like leaves and flowers that are striking in proportion to the plant. Mounted culture is particularly suitable, provided there is adequate humidity.
