Description

Laelia purpurata (Ecuagenera x vinicolor Inti)

Name: Laelia purpurata (‘Ecuagenera’ × vinicolor ‘Inti’)

Parents: Laelia purpurata ‘Ecuagenera’ × Laelia purpurata vinicolor ‘Inti’

Location/growing conditions: Grow in a very bright and airy location. A coarse, rapidly draining medium is ideal. Water regularly and fertilize lightly during the growing season; keep slightly drier after the pseudobulbs have matured and during winter. Temperatures of around 15–28 °C with cooler nights are favorable.

Description and notes: This intraspecific hybrid combines two selections of Laelia purpurata and is not a distinct grex. Large, elegant flowers with a light ground color and intense wine-red to purple lip markings are to be expected. Seedlings may vary in color, shape, and intensity.
