Name: Philodendron Florida

Parents: Philodendron pedatum × Philodendron squamiferum

Breeder: Robert ‘Bob’ McColley, Bamboo Nursery, Orlando, Florida.

Location/Cultural conditions: We grow Philodendron Florida in warm to intermediate conditions at approximately 19–28 °C, with high humidity and bright, indirect light. We keep the coarse, airy aroid substrate consistently slightly moist.

Description and notes: Philodendron Florida exhibits pronounced ontogeny: young plants initially have simpler leaves, while older specimens develop increasingly deeply lobed leaf blades. The hybrid combines the elegant leaf shape of Philodendron pedatum with the characteristic influence of Philodendron squamiferum. As a climbing plant, it benefits from a sturdy trellis.
