Name: Huperzia phlegmaria complex
Etymology: The genus name Huperzia honors the German botanist Johann Peter Huperz. The designation “complex” indicates that the plant offered here belongs to the group of forms surrounding Huperzia phlegmaria.
Origin/Distribution: The group of forms surrounding Huperzia phlegmaria is widespread in tropical regions of the Old World.
Habitat: Epiphytic, under humid tropical forest conditions. We recommend bright, filtered light, high humidity, constant air movement, and intermediate temperatures.
Description and notes: This plant develops long, decorative, densely leafy, trailing shoots and is ideal for hanging baskets and display cases. We use a very loose, airy, organic substrate and keep it evenly slightly moist. Waterlogging and complete drying out should be avoided. Temperatures of around 18–26 °C are well suited to cultivation.
