Description

Hoya chlorantha

Name: Hoya chlorantha Rech.

Taxonomic note: The name is now treated as a synonym of Hoya betchei (Schltr.) W.A.Whistler.

Origin/distribution: Samoa.

Location/habitat: Epiphytic climbing plant of moist tropical forests. We recommend warm to temperate conditions around 18–28 °C, bright filtered light, high humidity and good air circulation.

Description and notes: The species develops long trailing shoots, opposite leaves and spherical flower umbels with greenish to yellowish, waxy individual flowers. Use a coarse, very airy substrate and allow it to dry out slightly between waterings. A climbing support aids natural growth.
