Description

Houhopea Wayne Riggs

Name: Houhopea Wayne Riggs

Parents: Stanhopea Yolanda Breck × Houlletia odoratissima

Location/Growing conditions: Bright to partially shaded, with high humidity and good air movement. Grow under intermediate conditions at about 16–26 °C. Keep evenly moist in an airy, moisture-retentive basket or bark medium; downward-growing inflorescences need unobstructed space.

Description and notes: This intergeneric hybrid combines the large, pendulous flowers of its Stanhopea parentage with the upright, fragrant inflorescences of Houlletia odoratissima. Seedlings may vary in growth habit, color, and fragrance.
