Product information "Wooden baskets ser. 4 - 250"
Wooden baskets are a very decorative planter for orchids. The root area of the plants is well ventilated. The harder the wood, the longer its durability. Orchids such as Aerides, Ascocenda, Vanda, Rhychnostylis and their numerous hybrids can be grown practically substrate-free in the wooden baskets without substrate or with a few large pieces of bark.
Orchids such as Stanhopea, Gongora, Acineta, Dracula and many more have hanging or directly downward-growing racemes and should be grown with substrate in the baskets, as they require more water. Our Orchi-Mix is suitable for this purpose (please place a mesh at the bottom if necessary) or also Sphagnum.
Also Brassavola, Bulbophyllum, Cattleya, Coelogyne and many Dendrobium love wooden baskets due to the good ventilation, and look very attractive when grown in, even in a non-blooming state.
