Name: Epidendrum Thomas Ott
Parents: Epidendrum melanoporphyreum × Epidendrum pseudepidendrum
Location/Growing Conditions: We recommend a bright location with filtered light, high humidity, and very good air circulation. Water regularly during active growth; the airy bark substrate may be allowed to dry slightly between waterings, but should not remain dry for long. Cool-intermediate to intermediate temperatures of around 13–24 °C and a marked drop in temperature at night suit its lineage.
Description and Notes: Epidendrum Thomas Ott combines the dark, high-contrast floral characteristics of Epidendrum melanoporphyreum with the striking green-and-orange coloration of Epidendrum pseudepidendrum. The slender, upright plants can flower at a height of just 15 cm or so, making them suitable for smaller growing spaces as well. The flowers appear in terminal racemes; color, pattern, and form may vary among seedlings.
