Name: Dracuvallia Clive Henrick
Parents: Masdevallia coccinea × Dracula platycrater
Registration: Registered with the Royal Horticultural Society on July 29, 1992, by G. Staal; Cons. Flowers is listed as the originator.
Etymology: Dracuvallia is the intergeneric name for hybrids between Dracula and Masdevallia. Clive Henrick is the registered grex name.
Location/Culture: We recommend cool to intermediate culture of approximately 10–22 °C, shaded to moderately bright light, very high humidity, and constant gentle air movement. Keep the fine, airy, and moisture-retaining substrate evenly moist; do not allow it to dry out or become waterlogged. A permeable mesh pot allows inflorescences that grow sideways or downwards to emerge.
Description and notes: This hybrid combines the vibrant colors and upright flowers of M. coccinea with the unusual, cup-shaped flower of D. platycrater. Shape and color intensity may vary depending on the clone. Cool nights, soft water, and protection from summer heat are crucial; a dry dormancy is not required.
