Dracula mopsus ‘Ecuagenera’

Name: Dracula mopsus ‘Ecuagenera’

Origin/Distribution: Dracula mopsus is native to northwestern South America.

Location/Habitat: We grow the selection ‘Ecuagenera’ in cool to intermediate conditions at around 12–21 °C, with very high humidity, bright filtered light, and gentle, continuous air movement. The fine, airy substrate is kept evenly moist.

Description and Notes: ‘Ecuagenera’ is a selected cultivated form of this distinctive Dracula species. The unusual flowers appear on laterally growing to pendulous inflorescences. Growing it in an airy basket supports the development of the inflorescences and keeps the root zone well ventilated.
