Cyrtosperma johnstonii

Name: Cyrtosperma johnstonii

Origin/Distribution: The species is native to the southwestern Pacific region.

Location/Habitat: We grow Cyrtosperma johnstonii in warm conditions at around 21–30 °C, with high humidity and bright, indirect light. We keep the nutrient-rich, loose substrate consistently moist.

Description and Notes: This impressive aroid develops large, arrow-shaped leaves on sturdy, often strikingly colored and armed petioles. As it grows, it requires a lot of space and is particularly suitable for warm greenhouses and large tropical plant collections. Unlike many aroids, it tolerates a consistently moist root zone very well; nevertheless, we ensure a well-structured substrate and good air circulation.
